Easter Weekend!!

We had a great Easter :) We woke up and saw what the Easter bunny had left Allie Kate (A TON of stuff)! She got a beach pail with her name on it, sweet tart suckers (her fav), 3 pairs of shoes, all sorts of little toys, a windmill to put out by her new swing set, a new sippy cup with her name on it (she loved it so much I had to wash it and take it to church with us) and she also got her very own potty!!

We went to church together (9:15 service) and Allie Kate sat through almost the entire service!! She was SOOO good I was very thankful because we have taken her a few times and it just didn't work out! I did end up having to get up and take her out of the service (not because she was upset but because she kept talking and laughing...hmmm I may be getting what I deserve right there) but that was at the very end. We went back to our house and put Allie down for a short nap while I made corn casserole and then headed down to my mom's house to eat with the family and hunt eggs!

She had to go tell Bella Happy Easter!

Allie had fun hunting eggs...they had tons of eggs on the ground in the front yard just for her to pick up and she would go over to each egg and pick it up and open every egg and say "tandies" (candies) followed by a "mmmmmm." The girl loves candy (especially green peppermints like her mommy). She had a lot of fun :)

waiting on the eggs to be hidden...she was ready!!

And this is what she did when I wanted a picture with her!

We also went to Nan and Pop's for dinner and Allie Kate hunted eggs a few more times....

And then I put all the eggs out in the front yard and said "Allie, help momma get all the eggs and put them in your basket" and she looked at me and just turned around and walked off! I think she got tired of it, she probably thought "what's the point you're just gonna make me do again!"

Later that night she wanted to sit on her potty before she got in the bathtub and I just sat her there while I ran her bath water and the next thing I know she had tee-tee'd in it! I was so shocked...and very proud...and so was she :)

I had just bought the potty for her to get used to the idea of someday she will use it...my plan was not to potty train her right now! So I am just going to go really slow with this, I don't want to push her too hard...but she LOVES her potty and wants to sit on it :)

This is her sitting on it after we got home from church :)
We had a great Easter and are so thankful for our family and the true reason for Easter...He lives :)

Here comes a very tired Peter cottontail :)

For the past few weeks we have been unusually busy! We have had a bridesmaid meeting  and an engagement party (both for my sister), getting gifts together for the couples/basket party (also for my sister), we took Allie Kate to meet the Easter bunny, and trying to get all the Easter stuff together for Allie Kate is a task :) My parents also got Allie a swing set so Heath has been working hard putting it together and then we had my family over for dinner so the guys could set it up. It seems like we have had some sort of running around to do EVERY single day, and I am kind of a homebody so that is not how I like it.

So Allie Kate did a lot better than I thought she would do with the Easter bunny...she didn't want to go to him but when I handed her over she didn't freak out quite like she did with Santa (by the way I also got to sit with Santa because my sweet girl was terrified and she STILL cried because he was sitting next to us! haha). In the picture she is pointing at me with a funny face and she just kept saying "mommy, mommy." Why do we torture our children like this? haha I mean there are very few kids who actually want to go see the Easter bunny or Santa! But that being said she will be on both of their laps next year :)

this is what she did with a real bunny :)

The swing set that my parents bought for Allie Kate is the highlight of her year! She LOVES it! I was so thankful that they got it for her because we just couldn't find one that was the right age for her. Either they were huge and just too advanced for her or they were tiny and she would outgrow it by next year. She still gets so excited when she sees it out the window and she literally shakes :) It is the cutest thing ever! She loves to swing and yells "weeee" and says "side side side" (slide) all the time.

I joked with my mom today that we may have to hire a maid service to come and clean it every week because she FREAKS out if there is even a tiny speck on it! She will be up in her fort and say "Uh-O mommy" "help, help" and I will look and she has found a tiny speck of dirt and is in desperate need of my assistance :) She is also like this about both her hands and feet...sometimes I have to look really hard to even see what she is talking about!

My sister had her engagement/couples/basket party this past Friday night and it turned out really nice. Each couple is assigned a basket theme (ex:honeymoon, spring cleaning, date night, stock the pantry, car wash, laundry....) we had laundry. I was sad that I had to leave Allie Kate (Heath's parents watched her) but I was glad to see all of my friends that I don't really see that much anymore!

I also made this cute little art project to give to her...

So I just put together Allie's Easter basket (whoops just spoiled the whole bunny lie)...I LOVE stuff like this! I get so into it! Heath says it looks like Santa came to our house :) But we only have one baby right now so that is ok...when we start adding more then I might have to control myself a little more (yeah right).

Tonight (Saturday, 4/23/2011) we took Allie to Burger King to eat and play and had so much fun...me, Heath and Allie ended up in the tubes tonight! She refused to go through the tunnels to get to the slide so we had to climb up the slide backwards and it took both me and Heath to get her up there (it was a really twisty, long slide). After that we went to winn dixie to pick up a few things for my Easter dish I am taking to my mom's tomorrow (corn casserole) and Allie got a sucker and when I was strapping her in her car seat I told Allie Kate I needed to hold her sucker...when I gave it back to her she looked at me so sweetly and said "thank you momma." That just makes my heart smile...and not even really the thank you part (although that is very sweet and I want her to have good manners) it is the momma that she is adding to the end of everything now...I just love it :) She will also say over and over again "my mommy, my mommy, my mommy" I think that came from me singing that to her when she was little though because she says it in the same tune I used to sing it in :)

My little angel girl is the sweetest ever! Here are a few pictures from when Allie met her first real bunny...

Pretty days :)

I just LOVE spring time! It is so pretty and not cold but not too hot either. Me and Allie Kate have been outside as much as we can this week, riding in her wagon, taking walks, and just playing in the backyard. Her new favorite is "hunting" her eggs in the back yard! My mom says I am training her for the big Easter egg hunt they have (and I had to agree, they have a prize egg with $20 in it...we are going to find it:).

My mom took me and Allie Kate shopping at the new outlet malls and got her some new stuff for this summer. Me and Heath are so blessed that we have such sweet parents that are able to take us shopping for her clothes! Seriously between my mom and mother in law we really would not have to buy Allie any clothes...ever! We are very thankful for them, it helps us out so much!

Last night we went to see my little brother and sister on my dads side (Haley and Taylor) and met them at a little mexican restaurant and afterwards went back to their house and visited with them and their mom. We don't get to see them very often because they live about 40 min away and it just seems like time gets away and before you know it 5 months have passed by! So I was glad to get to visit and catch up. And of course Allie was terrified by my little "big" brother!

On Sunday we took Allie Kate to burger king (mainly because it is the only place in my town that has an indoor play ground since it was 86 degrees outside). And she wanted to go up in the tubes (I don't know what else to call them). Let me just say that it is SO much more fun when you are younger...and SO much easier! ha! I was getting a little claustrophobic in that little tube with a 17 month old glued to my side. And the worst part was she was scared so I had to "carry" her in the tubes (if that is even possible, right?).

We went over to Nan and Pop's and after dinner me, Allie Kate, and Jake went down to swing under their porch and Jake decided he wanted to explore in the woods.....then he came out screaming!
This little guy about got him....

Heath's friend Matt ran and got his golf club and beat him to death! They said it was a copper head! Me and Allie Kate were right there and I am so thankful that it didn't get Jake or us!!!
And Matt seemed to be so excited and he wanted me to take these pics to put on his facebook haha :)
